There’s an element of excitement associated with the word “airplane” that creates the spirit of adventure. It knows no boundaries and encourages enthusiasm that’s as infectious as it is appealing. It is what has captured the imagination of more than 200,000 individuals who proudly call themselves EAA members.

EAA was founded in 1953 by Paul H. Poberezny who served as the organization’s president from 1953 to 1989 and then as chairman of the board until 2009.

It has grown from a handful of aviation enthusiasts to an international organization representing virtually the entire spectrum of recreational aviation.

H.O.O.A.H. WI’s mission is to eliminate suicide with a proactive approach to the overall wellness of service members, veterans and their support systems through programs and certified professionals.

We operate with 100% volunteers. We do not pay any staff or members of our organization.

Military Vehicle Preservation Association

We are excited to announce that the 49th Annual MVPA-HA International Convention will be held in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, at the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) grounds, 12-14 September 2024. The Midwest Military Vehicle Association (MMVA), the Wisconsin affiliate of the MVPA will be hosting the Convention. Oshkosh offers a variety of fun events and attractions for all ages. Surrounding lakes, rivers and trails provide year-round opportunities to explore the outdoors and the inviting downtown district features all the amenities of a big city within a small-city setting.

Based in Appleton, Wisconsin, Missions of Honor creates meaningful experiences that celebrate the service and sacrifice of veterans from every generation. Through one-day honor flights, multi-day retreats, and special missions, we give our veterans the chance to reflect on their service, connect with one another, and experience the gratitude they deserve—all at no cost to them. Through these missions, we’re working to honor America’s heroes—one mission at a time.

Old Glory Honor Flight

Our Old Glory Honor Flight celebrates local veterans who served prior to May 7, 1975—flying them to Washington, D.C., where they’re honored and appreciated.

Vets & Friends of Wisconsin, Inc.
Appleton, WI

Vets & Friends of Wisconsin Inc. is a 501(c)3 local military veterans’ organization. We are located at St. James United Methodist Church, 100 W. Capitol Drive in Appleton WI 54911.

We serve Friday breakfasts from 8am-10am and Wednesday Brunch from 10am-12pm. Please join us for camaraderie, great food and a relaxing atmosphere! Be sure to check out the Events tab on the website for the most updated schedule, including holidays. 

Wisconsin Hero Outdoors
Delafield, WI

Wisconsin Hero Outdoors (WHO) works with Veterans and First responders to aide in suicide prevention by utilizing the camaraderie of outdoor activities to address the physical and mental health challenges brought on by the stresses of service.

No one form of therapy is a perfect fit for everyone and helping make a variety of options available to our Veterans, First Responders and their families is the goal of Wisconsin Hero Outdoors.

Wisconsin Maritime Museum
Manitowoc, WI

Our Mission

The Wisconsin Maritime Museum connects all people with Wisconsin’s waterways, by engaging and educating the public about the Great Lakes, Wisconsin’s maritime history, Wisconsin’s World War II submarines and USS Cobia.

Wisconsin Veterans Museum

The Wisconsin Veterans Museum is dedicated to the people of Wisconsin who served in the armed forces and honors and affirms the role of all veterans in shaping Wisconsin military history and that of the nation. The Wisconsin Veterans Museum is an educational activity of the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs.

Wounded Warriors United - Wisconsin

We are 100% volunteer run. There are no paid salaries here. We want to be very clear of that. All monies raised is for the organization and it’s mission.

Wounded Warriors United of Wisconsin has been serving Wisconsin Veterans since 2015. On January 1 2021 we became an independent 501c3 nonprofit and no longer needed to operate with the permission and id numbers of the original founder in Kansas.

While Otto focuses on coordinating hunting and fishing trips, Vickie is more in the background coordinating events, doing the marketing, managing the Facebook pages and the day to day operations. The mountains of thank you’s that are sent, calls for donations for raffles, and creating ways to generate revenue keep her busy 24/7.
