Mosquito Hill Nature Center

Located just outside of New London in the bend of the Wolf River, Mosquito Hill Nature Center is your next stop for outdoor adventure and environmental education. Open year round, the nature center features educational displays, public programming for all ages, school field trips, and more. Trails on the property offer beautiful views of lowland forests, prairies, and upland forests.

Trails & Outdoor Activities

• Hiking Trails: Explore 3 miles of trails through Mosquito Hill's various terrains and habitats. Trail substrate ranges from paved to packed dirt and trail difficulty ranges from easy to moderate depending on slope. For more information on accessibility on trails, please contact us!
• Other Outdoor Activities: Enjoy a picnic lunch, go bird watching, hike to the overlook platform, play on the nature playscape, watch for wildlife, explore the prairie, and more!

Indoor Facilities

• Exhibit Wing: Brand new educational displays!
• Gift Shop: Stop by for Mosquito Hill swag, nature themed gifts, and unique artwork along with the basics such as snacks and sunscreen.
• Library: Check out a wide variety of nature-based books from children's story books to field guides. Free, self-guided seasonal activities for kids are available in the Library.
• Rentable Spaces: The Great Room, Conference Room, and Library are rentable spaces perfect for parties, business meetings, and more. Check out the Facility Rental page for more information.

Programming & Education

• Public Programming: From guided hikes to build-a-birdhouse workshops and more, there are opportunities for everyone! Check the County Calendar of Events and our Facebook page for upcoming programs.
• Environmental Education: Mosquito Hill Nature Center offers educational field trips and outreach programs to student and adult groups. Check out the Programs & Field Trips page for more information.
• Summer Ecology: A summer day camp for kids in kindergarten through 5th grade that focuses on exploring nature through hands-on activities.

Citizen Science

• Citizen Science is a way for the community (You!) to get involved with research projects studying the natural world. Contact us for more information on how to get involved.
• Current monitoring projects include Snapshot Wisconsin (wildlife monitoring via trail camera), Acoustic Bat Surveys, Christmas Bird Count, Rusty Patch Bumblebee, Wood Duck boxes, and Bluebird boxes.

• No pets permitted in the park or on the trails.
• No smoking allowed.
