Dog Park Grand Opening Image for May 27, 2026

After plenty of tail-wagging anticipation, it’s finally time to celebrate! Outagamie County is excited to invite the community to the ribbon cutting and grand opening of our brand-new dog park — officially named Outagamie County’s Barks & Recreation following an enthusiastic public vote.

Come out for a morning of ribbon cutting, remarks, festivities, and fun, plus a food truck to help make the celebration even sweeter. Most importantly, bring your furry friends and enjoy the park together as we officially open this exciting new community space.

It’s hard to believe that just after the groundbreaking on July 17, we’re already here — ready to open the gates and welcome dogs and their humans to a park built just for them.

Outagamie County’s Bark & Recreation is the result of years of thoughtful planning that began in 2018, when the Department of Solid Waste completed permitting for its next landfill expansion. Because the current dog park sits within the footprint of that future expansion, county officials carefully reviewed multiple county-owned locations before selecting this new site near Brewster Village.

The location stood out for its:

  • Easy highway access
  • Close proximity to Outagamie County’s urban center
  • Nearby pet-focused businesses
  • Distance from other area dog parks, including Kaukauna’s

A collaborative three-way land swap between the Parks, Highway, and Solid Waste departments helped make the project possible, ensuring each department received land to support its operational needs.

Designed to be a welcoming and inclusive destination for dogs and their owners, the new park features:

  • Dedicated off-leash areas for small and large dogs
  • An agility training area
  • ADA-accessible amenities
  • An all-seasons restroom
  • Shade structures
  • A trail extension connecting to the Old Stone Bridge Trail

We can’t wait to celebrate this exciting addition to our community with you. Grab the leash, round up the family, and join us for a paws-itively great morning at Outagamie County’s Barks & Recreation!
