During CNA Week, June 11–17, we proudly recognize the Certified Nursing Assistants whose compassion, dedication, and skill make a meaningful difference every day in the lives of elders and vulnerable individuals.

CNAs are often the caregivers who spend the most time with residents in nursing homes and long-term care communities. They are there for both the everyday moments and life’s biggest challenges—providing hands-on care, helping with daily activities, offering comfort, and supporting each resident’s dignity, independence, and quality of life.

Their impact goes far beyond personal care. CNAs build strong, meaningful relationships with residents and families. They learn life stories, celebrate milestones, share laughter, offer reassurance, and become trusted companions. Their close attention and daily interactions also help identify changes in a resident’s health and well-being, making them an essential part of the care team.

Being a CNA takes clinical skill, patience, empathy, resilience, and a deep commitment to serving others. Whether helping someone begin the day, encouraging progress during rehabilitation, or simply taking time to listen, CNAs create countless moments of comfort, connection, and care.

Long-term care would not be possible without these dedicated professionals. Their work supports not only the physical health of those they serve, but also their emotional well-being and sense of belonging.

This CNA Week, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all Certified Nursing Assistants—at Brewster Village and everywhere. Thank you for the kindness you show, the relationships you build, and the exceptional care you provide each and every day. Your work touches lives in ways that may not always be seen, but are always deeply appreciated.

Please join us in recognizing and thanking the CNAs who serve our elders and vulnerable community members with such dedication and compassion. They truly are the heart of long-term care.
