- When thunder roars, go indoors! Take shelter in a sturdy building or a car with a roof
- Actively monitor the weather by watching the news, monitoring social media, or listening to a weather radio
After
- Do not walk under damaged powerlines and trees. Instead, report these hazards
- Wear proper clothing when handling debris (closed toe shoes, gloves, pants, and long sleeves)

Actions to take:
- Stay informed of the weather conditions
- Be prepared to seek shelter
Severe Thunderstorm Warning
Severe thunderstorms have been reported or identified by radar.
Actions to take:
- Take shelter in a sturdy building immediately
- Go to the lowest interior room
- Actively monitor the weather by watching the news or listening to a weather radio
- Wait until the storm has cleared to leave your safe area
