Trails

The CE Trail is a 5.8-mile paved pathway designed for three-season recreational use, perfect for walking, running, and biking. This trail provides a scenic and enjoyable pathway for outdoor enthusiasts in the heart of Wisconsin.

Trail Usage:

• Motorized vehicles are prohibited.
• Dogs are welcome but must remain leashed at all times.

Seasonal Maintenance:

• Snow removal is not conducted by the Outagamie County Parks System.
• Agreements with the City of Kaukauna and Town of Buchanan ensure snow removal in specific sections.

Parking Information:

• A parking lot is available at the corner of Debruin Road (County Road HH) and East College Avenue (County Road CE) in Kaukauna.
• Access the parking area via Green Way Drive.

Location:

• The trail spans from Appleton to Kaukauna, situated on the north side of County Highway CE.

The Newton Blackmour State Trail is a versatile, multipurpose trail running through New London, Shiocton, Black Creek, and Seymour in Outagamie County. It is accessible year-round, though some activities may be restricted at times. This trail offers a rich, scenic experience for various recreational activities throughout the year.

Trail Location:

• A former railroad grade stretching 24 miles between New London and Seymour.
• Runs almost parallel to Highway 54.

Parking Information:

• Available in Black Creek on North Maple Street, south of the Newton Blackmour State Trail.

Multipurpose Access:

• Open to hikers, bikers, horseback riders, and snowmobiles in winter.
• ATV's and unauthorized motorized vehicles are strictly prohibited.
• Snowmobiles must conclude their journey at the end of the trail, as they are not allowed on the Duck Creek Trail extending into Brown County.

To help prevent damage to the trail, horses should remain off the trails until they are dry - typically around May.  Riders are also encouraged to limit trail use after heavy rainfall to minimize potential damage. 

The Old Stone Bridge Trail offers a scenic journey through wooded green space and provides a peaceful path for outdoor enthusiasts in a lush, serene setting.

Trail Connections:

• Connects to Fox Valley Technical College
• Loops around the college building and returns to the trailhead near Brewster Village

• Northwest of Brewster Village
• South of Fox Valley Technical College
• West of Bluemound Road in Grand Chute, Wisconsin

The Wiouwash State Trail offers a scenic and versatile recreational experience, spanning 5.9 miles in Outagamie County and connecting to an additional 21.8 miles in Winnebago County. This trail provides a peaceful environment for recreation, fostering respect and enjoyment among diverse users.

"Wiouwash" derives from the counties it crosses: Winnebago, Outagamie, Waupaca, and Shawano.

Trail Features:

• Gravel, multipurpose trail
• Developed through a cooperative effort with Outagamie and Winnebago Counties and the Department of Natural Resources
• Rural setting with native tallgrass preserves and flourishing wildflowers
• Frequent sighting of birds and wildlife
• Connects south from Hortonville to the Winnebago County line
• An unconnected segment runs between Split Rock and Birnamwood in Shawano County

Location and Parking:

• Outagamie County trailhead south of Hortonville, just off Lake View Ave
• Additional parking at the southwest corner of the trail intersection with Highway 96 at Medina

Trail Rules:

• Motorized vehicles prohibited, except snowmobiles in winter
• Dogs allowed on leashes; owners must clean up after them
• Riders must clean up after horses
• Alcoholic beverages are prohibited
• Hunting and firearms possession is a violation of county ordinance
• Open from dawn to dusk, extended hours during snowmobile season

Trail Etiquette:

• Form a single file when approaching others
• Signal and wait for permission to pass, especially around horseback riders
• Be courteous to all users and respect property rights
• Stay on the trail to maintain positive relationships with adjacent property owners
