Recording Fees & Requirements

RECORDING FEES

  • Standard real estate documents - $30.00
  • Subdivision and Condominium Plat - $50.00
  • Transportation Project Plat (TPP) - $25.00

DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED FOR RECORDING MUST CONTAIN THE FOLLOWING:

  • 3”x3” blank space in upper right-hand corner for recording area
  • Completed Name and Return address located directly under the recording area, or on the left side of the page within the top 3 inches
  • Parcel Identification Number
  • Document must be legible and reproducible
  • Complete and accurate legal description of property
  • Grantor and Grantee must be identified
  • Original signatures must be notarized or authenticated
  • Court documents must be a certified copy
  • Name of person who drafted the document
  • Document must be prepared in black ink (except for signatures)
  • Recording fee (and any transfer fee due, if applicable)
  • Wisconsin Real Estate Transfer Return Receipt, if required
