The Wiouwash State Trail offers a scenic and versatile recreational experience, spanning 5.9 miles in Outagamie County and connecting to an additional 21.8 miles in Winnebago County. This trail provides a peaceful environment for recreation, fostering respect and enjoyment among diverse users.
"Wiouwash" derives from the counties it crosses: Winnebago, Outagamie, Waupaca, and Shawano.

Location and Parking:
- Outagamie County trailhead south of Hortonville, just off Lake View Ave
- Additional parking at the southwest corner of the trail intersection with Highway 96 at Medina
Trail Rules:
- Motorized vehicles prohibited, except snowmobiles in winter
- Dogs allowed on leashes; owners must clean up after them
- Riders must clean up after horses
- Alcoholic beverages are prohibited
- Hunting and firearms possession is a violation of county ordinance
- Open from dawn to dusk, extended hours during snowmobile season
