Tourist Rooming House/Short-Term Rentals

You must have a license to operate a tourist rooming house (TRH) or short-term rental in Outagamie County. This is a requirement by the state of Wisconsin and Outagamie County Public Health (OCPH) is a licensed agent for the state.

AirBnB or VRBO are common websites you may use to find a TRH or short-term rental to stay at. These properties must be licensed and inspected each year they are actively renting.

Our sanitarians inspect these properties to ensure they meet all requirements under ATCP 72 code. This is done to keep you and your family safe and healthy.

It is the responsibility of the property owner to contact OCPH to obtain a license and inspection. If you have any questions please contact OCPH and ask to speak with a sanitarian.
