Out-of-Home Care Services
Out-of-Home Care is provided by licensed foster parents and relatives or like-kin providers for children who cannot live with their parents because they are unsafe, have special care or treatment needs that their parents are unable to manage, or other circumstances resulting in their parents or family being unable to care for them.
Generally, placement in out-of-home care is temporary and intended to give families time to make necessary changes so that the child can live safely in his or her home and community. Most children in out-of-home care return home to their families; this is known as reunification. When children cannot return home, they find permanence through adoption, guardianship, or other means.
Is being a caregiver for you? Every day foster parents help to improve the lives of children who might not otherwise have a chance to learn and grow in a loving home environment. These kids need people to change the course of their lives!

MEDIA - ReMoved Part 1 and 2
Originally created for the 168th Film Festival, ReMoved follows the emotional story through the eyes of a young girl taken from her home and placed into foster care. "It would be impossible to fully understand the life and emotions of a child going through the foster care system, but this short narrative film portrays that saga in a poetic light, with brushes of fear, anger, sadness, and a tiny bit of hope." -Santa Barbara Independent.
