Project Description
This project includes the design and construction of intersection improvements at County CE & Fieldcrest Drive. The existing intersection has experienced a high number of serious crashes that has led to the need for improvements to improve safety. It is anticipated that the proposed improvement will consist of a modified Reduced Crossing U-Turn (RCUT) intersection. Federal funding has been awarded through the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) to support the project.
Project Status
Design engineering for this intersection is underway. A public involvement meeting was held on Wednesday, August 12th, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Kaukauna City Hall Council Chambers (144 W. 2nd Street, Kaukauna, WI 54130).
Construction is currently scheduled to occur in late 2028 or early 2029.

Traffic Impacts
The proposed improvements are tentatively scheduled to be constructed in two phases. The first phase will consist of constructing the sideroad improvements with the second phase consisting of the median improvements. Temporary lane closures will be in place along County CE during off-peak hours while maintaining a minimum of one lane in each direction. Fieldcrest Drive would be closed for the majority of construction.
